Prada’s cool Josephine Baker inspired summer collection complete with bananas and stripes got its inspiration from a not so unknown source: Christian Dior.
This Dior dress from the 70s, complete with gold and vibrant retro colours, was made in response to the growing popularity of the pattern then, as worn by Picasso and Andy Warhol, and sailors and fishermen before them!
That is to say that what was made as a basic pattern has lived on well after the time it was originally invented. And as an ode to Prada for bringing back the stripes this season, we bring into the picture bubble gum pink Prada shoes!
