Ramadan is synonymous with one big fashion garment: the jalabiya. The prints, embroideries, varied lengths and themes are just a few things to play with in the myriad world of the jalabiya.
We, however, are head over heels in love with this ‘just above the ankle’ tribal African print jalabiya from none other than Beirut’s Orient 499.
Aida Kawas and Frank Luca of Orient 499 have joined forces to create something modern, yet traditional. The result is countless numbers of jalabiyas to chose from in vibrant and subdued colours and beautiful patchwork embroidery. Our favorite is this tribal African print with gold thread patchwork and an unlikely modern length.
The added comfort of this jalabiya makes us wish we could wear it during the day, although we do think it’s best reserved to be taken into the night!
